This design was selected as the official department shirt for NUS Philosophy.

The highlight of the shirt is the collage on the back, which draws inspiration from dramatic floating head movie posters and metallic chrome type from classic rock/metal band merchandise.

I came up with the pun on rocks while trying to bring out the idea that philosophy is not boring or drab like its stereotype. Turning to pop culture for inspiration, I decided on the floating heads that are typically reminiscent of punchy action film posters or 90s graphic tees, and reworked it to feature famous philosophers.

The featured philosopher busts are: Immanuel Kant, René Descartes, Plato, David Hume, Simone de Beauvoir, Sun Tzu, Friedrich Nietzsche, and Socrates.

Shirt designs for AY24/25.

Decided to strip back on the features for this iteration so the department could have a (slightly) less goofy shirt to wear for official events.
